WHY

WHY stands for the partnership between Hermès Yachts and Wally. This new joint venture has conceptualized a motor yacht that redefines the art of living on the sea in green style. Powered by a diesel electric engine, it is also fitted with 900 square meters of photovoltaic panels. Amazing!

Common Projects AW09

One of our favorite Manhattan-based men's labels Common Projects makes clean and under-stated shoes with a very luxurious feel. Every pair of Common Projects shoes has an ID number printed on the heel but apart from that, there’s no other logo or label on them. All models are human-stitched in Italy with the finest materials. Here's a few of our favorite mid to high options for Fall.

Lipstick Queen

Lipstick is back!!!! Poppy King launched her lip color brand Lipstick Queen in 2007, right when the tide started to turn, so the collection has been a terrific success -- thanks to the gorgeous colors and rich textures. For women who aren't ready to abandon their lip gloss just yet, Poppy has her newest launch, Fifteen Minutes of Fame Pop Art Gloss, which includes 15 shades of what she calls, "clear, bright, unadulterated color. No shimmer whatsoever -- I think this is the new frontier of lip gloss." Ladies, if not up on Lipstick Queen now is your chance!

We had the pleasure of going to see one of our favorite style icons and musicians David Byrne at the Prospect Park bandshell in Brooklyn a few weeks ago and we were amazed at how stylish this man still is. You can't deny it he wears it well! He and Debbie Harry would of made a great couple..

Été D'Amour (Summer of Love)

Respect is Burning parties of the ‘90s played host to acts like Cassius, Dimitri from Paris and, of course, Daft Punk, who helmed Respect’s inaugural night at Queen. Back then, these yet-to-be platinum acts were still unknowns, crafting what was then labeled the “French Touch” or “neu-disco” sound, and propelling Respect to become one of the most successful parties in Parisian history. Now you can catch their Summer of Love series Sundays at the Rivington Hotel in NYC. DJ Set this upcoming Sunday (21st), from DFA Records artists Holy Ghost! We will definitely be there...For more info CLICK HERE.

No Impact Man

For one year, Beavan became “No Impact Man,” attempting to live his normal life, in New York City, without leaving an impact on the environment. No new products. No chemicals. No non-local food. No electricity. He sacrificed his personal comfort, risked his self-esteem, and even jeopardized his relationship with his family, all for this strange test. Screening Thursday, June 11th at The Automotive High School in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. For more info CLICK HERE.
